I’ve just discovered a great new blog which provides a new reading and book prompt, called Teaser Tuesday, hosted by Jenn of Books and a Beat. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:
• Grab your current read
• Open to a random page
• Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
• BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
• Share the title & author, too, so that other Teaser Tuesday participants can add the book to their Reading Lists if they like your teasers!
Make sure you link your post to the Teaser Tuesday page.
Here are my teasers…..
“The sheet of paper looked like a blow-up of an Ordnance Survey map. Up in the top right-hand corner was a circle in red, marking the spot where the body had been found…..”
“The next photograph showed a dark, human-shaped shadow in deep undergrowth…”
These teasers come from ‘You Are Dead’ by Peter James.
Peter James is a British author, and this is the 11th novel featuring detective Roy Grace. The novels are based in and around Brighton, and although the same characters appear in all the books, with references to previous plots, each book can be read alone, and you don’t need to read them in the order they were written. His novels are gripping and detailed, and always contain an element of suspense, with intricate plot-twists. An excellent crime writer, similar to Lee Child, Peter Robinson and Harlen Coben.
