My local town – Romsey, UK

As we live on our yacht in Greece for the summer, we are often in a different location every few days.   I have posted many Greek photos on my blog, but for this week’s photo challenge

I am posting some local photos  of where we are staying in UK over the winter.

My local town is Romsey, in Hampshire, in the south of England.  We are about 7 miles from Southampton and ten miles from Winchester.

Romsey is an old market town with many old buildings.

This old timbered building dates from the 16th century

This old building is now a restaurant

Quite local to me is a restored theatre, used by the local theatre group.

Romsey Abbey is a well-known local landmark, situated in the middle of the town.

View of the abbey.

Another view of the old timbered building

One of the individual shops in town centre.

A local pub, decorated with flowers

Two ancient doors at the Abbey

I hope you enjoyed the trip around my local town!

  1. looks like we will be back in the UK next year, as The Mrs has already booked our train tickets to NYC… Looks like we may spend an extra day or two in Southampton area exploring, and I am certain I could convince her to visit the inviting Cake Room Tea Shop!! Great little pictorial tour!
