It was a sunny, but very cold day last Friday. We arranged to meet up with three of my girl friends, plus two dogs, and go for a walk in the country. We met in the lovely old village of Ovington, and walked along the banks of the river Itchen. Freddie the retired greyhound, looked very smart in his new red coat……
My husband, disguised as a burglar, and my good friend Claire with her dog Freddie.
When everyone had arrived, we set off along the banks of the river Itchen.
Freddie the greyhound preferred to amble along, rather than show off his racing skills……
Woody the Springer ran ahead and loved the walk.
The woods and the river looked very very pretty in the winter sunshine.
We even found a local blacksmith at work…..

We eventually returned to our starting point, and we were pleased to get out of the cold wind, and go inside the pub. There was a welcome log fire burning. The pub was very old, with many wooden beams. The walls were covered with old photographs, stuffed fish, and there was even a wall of bank notes.
Another interesting artifact was a wooden sign displaying the mooring charges for various vessels.
We enjoyed our lunch st the Bush Inn, the menu was excellent. I chose the steak and mushroom pie, and it was delicious…..
Have you been on any interesting walks, recently?
