Freshly Pressed – what does it mean?

Am I the only person in the world who didn’t know what ‘Freshly Pressed” meant?

Occasionally when I read other people’s blogs, I see that they have a little blue logo on their site, like this –

Apparently, it’s quite a big deal if you get Freshly Pressed, as it can attract a large number of new viewers to your blog.   Every day, the WordPress team select a small number of blogs from the millions of posts published, and they appear in the ‘Discover’ section of the Reader.

Here’s Jan’s post about being Freshly Pressed….

Here’s a post by Transcribingmemory describing how they found they were Freshly Pressed…

    • No, it doesn’t matter to me, I was just interested in finding out about it. A lot of the blogs that are selected are just ordinary blogs, not businesses. I might submit my most popular post, just to see what happens!

  1. I was featured on Freshly Pressed when I first started blogging; back then it was luck – the editors had to see your article and think it worthy of sharing. Good to now they now take submissions for “DIscover”!
