One year older, but not much wiser….

It’s definitely true that the older you get, the faster time goes by…..

The last few years have gone past in a flash.   I had another of those damn birthdays last weekend, they creep up on you when you’re not looking.  But I’m still not eligible for a bus pass or an old age pension!

On Saturday I took the train and FastCat ferry from Ryde, Isle of Wight, where we now live, and went to Havant to meet my children and grandchildren at the Pallant House Play Cafe. We decided that it would be better for the children to run around freely, rather than restrict them in a formal restaurant.  There is a little cafe within the play centre, so the grown ups could sit and chat while the little people amused themselves.  We were able to buy drinks, sandwiches, pizza, baked potatoes, cakes etc. So although it wasn’t a conventional birthday lunch, the children had lots of fun.

Later, we all went back to my daughter’s house, and a good time was had by all.  Party games, birthday presents, cake and prosecco!

My very favourite present was having my three grown up children, and four little grandchildren with me, altogether! But it is always so hard to get a photo of all of them at the same time…..
