Share Your World – 28 May

Cee’s Share Your World  always asks some interesting questions.  What would you answer to these interesting ones?

If you were to pack a basket for pinic lunch, what would be in your basket?

I’ve always wanted a proper picnic basket, to take out into the country and find a nice spot to sit, and unpack something for delicious for lunch.

In my picnic basket I would pack some cooked chicken drumsticks, a quiche, a bowl of salad, some grapes, hard boiled eggs, Brie and French bread.  And some wine, of course. And I would need to have proper cutlery, real plates and glasses, no paper plates or plastic beakers for me!

On a vacation what you would require in any place that you sleep?

Definitely a decent pillow.  And I wouldn’t sleep on the ground or in a tent, so you can forget that.  I need the room to be very dark, and very quiet.  So a hotel room above a nightclub wouldn’t do.  Most importantly, I would need a private ensuite bathroom with large bath and super fluffy towels.

If you were to buy a new house/apartment what is the top three items on your wish list?

As I’m very unlikely never to be buying a new house or apartment in the future, I will tell you about the things we wished for when we moved house last year.  I wanted a log burning stove in the sitting room, a spare room which could double as a sewing room and a spare bedroom, and a private garden with a man shed for my husband.  It also had to be five minutes from the beach and from the town centre, and near public transport links.  And believe it or not, we found a perfect garden flat which had all these things!

What did you appreciate or what made you smile this past week?  Feel free to use a quote, a photo, a story, or even a combination.

I shall be back on our boat in Greece in a few days, so I’ve appreciated the time I’ve spent with my children and grandchildren, as I won’t see them again for several months…..

  1. I like your idea of a picnic. Another must for me is a picnic table and chairs. I don’t do sitting on the ground. It makes me ache and then I can’t get up. It’s dreadful.

  2. Your flat sounds perfect. A man shed is important. The first thing my hubby built at our retirement house was an extension to the garage which serves as his workshop. The garden is private and sheltered and we’re five minutes walk from the beach and the shops. We also have a wood burning stove in the living room – fab-u-lous

  3. I love the picnic basket idea, and we actually have a real nice one. Delicious cheese, fruits, and wine are our favorites, along with a bit of chocolate for later. 🙂 If we’re going casual then we’ll split a good sandwich, chips, maybe a cookie and something to drink. Your flat sounds wonderful, too. As to the hotel room, I would say a bathroom, king bed with clean everything, and a beautiful view, whether it be the ocean, a garden, or mountainous. The top 3 items for our new home would be a fourth bedroom, a garage (had one before, but not in this house, so we have a covered car port now), and a pool! Love to swim! Fun post, Georgie!
