Do blogs have to be entertaining?

Thank you so very much to my dusty flipflops  for my nomination for the Entertainer Blogger Award! It’s always nice to be recognised, and I always respond to any award I am lucky enough to receive.

If you haven’t already checked out my dusty flip flops  I would encourage you to do so. She is based in the U.K. but has travelled extensively all over the world, and has some amazing photos to show us.

Here are the questions!

Why did you start blogging in the first place?

What is your favourite book?

What do you dislike the most?

What is your favourite food at the mall?

What is your favourite pastime?

… and here are my responses to the Questions !

Why did you start blogging in the first place?

I liked reading other’s blogs, and finding out about  people’s lifestyle, their likes and dislikes, looking at their photos.  I’m basically a nosey person. One of the first blogs I followed was windtraveler, which is the story of a US family who live on their yacht full time in the BVI with three little girls under 6. Their yacht was destroyed in Hurricane Irma which devastated their island, but they are putting their lives back together, and now have a new boat.

I also like writing, taking part in challenges, and showing off my photos. Blogging is also like a modern day diary – you can look back over the years to see what you’ve been doing. My blog is called Third Time Lucky as it took me three attempts to get it up and running, I’m not very technically minded. It’s still not perfect! Any ideas or suggestions for improvements are gratefully received.

What is your favourite book?

i don’t have one particular favourite, I don’t think I’ve ever read the same book twice. Pillars of the Earth by Ken Follett is a masterpiece. I’ve also read all his other books.  I also like crime thrillers by Peter James, and Patricia Cornwell.

What do you dislike most?

Hmm, that’s a very hard question! Can’t you narrow it down a bit? Food? Hairstyles? Cars?   I’ll tell you what I dislike very much, are the ridiculous rules and regulations that stop people living their lives.  Children can’t play conkers or marbles or climb trees as it’s too dangerous. Signs on food which say you will die if it’s one day out of date. Counselling for kids who are stressed by exams…… just get over it, and use your common sense!

What is your favourite food at the mall?

How American!  In the U.K. we call them shopping centres.  And I never associate them with food.  I go to shop, not to eat.  I can’t see the point of eating food while you are walking.  I like to sit down and enjoy a meal in a nice location, not shove a pie in my mouth while I’m walking…..

What is your favourite pastime?

I’m not sporty, but I do like a long country walk.  I like sewing, craft, painting and sketching.  I like cryptic crosswords.  I like photography. I like taking part in blog challenges.  I’m very fond of putting my feet up in front of the TV on a cold winter’s afternoon and watching some trash TV.

My Nominees:

I know some people won’t want to participate. It’s your choice. But I’m choosing the seven newest followers to my blog…..

  3. ahhhh….
enjoyed getting to know you a bit more – and now I know the reason for the name of your blog.

and I agree on how my blog also feels like a

“modern day diary – you can look back over the years to see what you’ve been doing.”

  4. Congrats, Georgie, and thanks for thinking of me, too. I’ll have to pass on following through for now, though. Not enough time in the day, but I did enjoy reading your answers and love your photos. I agree about kids not being able to do things because it’s too dangerous. I think they should be outside playing more rather than cooped up inside staring at a screen. 🙂 Have a great day! 🚢⚓
