I haven’t participated in Thursday Doors for a while, but as it was such a glorious day on the Isle of Wight yesterday, I took my camera with me when we took a walk along the seafront between Sandown and Shanklin.
One of my favourite walks is along the beach from Ryde to Seaview. At low tide you can actually walk on the sand all the way, about two miles, otherwise there is a very good promenade with no traffic until you get to the outskirts of Seaview.
Seaview is a very pretty seaside village, on the east coast of the Isle of Wight. It is quite a small village, especially in the winter, but there is a nice cafe that is always open, and a community shop. In the summer it is a much livelier place, attracting sailors, and tourists to the beach.

Last week I visited Osborne House on the Isle of Wight, with my daughter. This was one of the Royal homes of Queen Victoria, who spent a lot of time here after Prince Albert died. She herself died at Osborne House in 1901. Continue reading
